One Year of Blessing

Today is the one year anniversary of knowing my bride. On this date just a year ago, I began communicating with Amy and from there (obviously) our love for each other grew and continues to grow. :)

As a way of celebrating the start of our friendship together, Amy drew from her southern roots and prepared a special meal of shrimp gumbo, herb garnished steak, lemon dill salad, and finished off with a wonderful strawberry pie. It was absolutely fantastic — as has become the case with all of my wife’s cooking. (If you can’t tell, I really love my wife.) It was truly a testimony of Christ displayed in the aesthetics of a meal carefully prepared for such an occasion. I felt as if I was stepping back to some Deep South plantation to take part in this meal, even though I was actually in a two bedroom apartment in middle Tennessee.

I am very grateful to the Lord for the blessing and love of my dear wife. She serves me completely in every aspect of her life and I am truly honored to call her my own. I look forward to many years together as the Lord continues to shape our lives in service to Him.

I cant believe it has been a year. I would love to know how you guys met and your joint story through to now. And hows about some more photos?
a devoted reader!

Mark and Amy,
Congratulations! We are so happy for you! We have enjoyed reading about your lives! We are embarrassed to say that we have just gotten around to sending you a wedding gift...as you know, we were blessed with our first baby, Anna Claire, in April. She was a month early, so since then, she's been all that we live and breathe! She is the most precious little thing and truly a wonderful gift from God. We would love to keep in touch with you. We are still living in New Orleans. Our house flooded, but Andrew did most of the work himself and we were back in by last December. Andrew is in his final year of Dental School and I have just retired from teaching Kindergarten to be a full-time mom, which is more fun than I ever imagined! We wish the best for the two of you!

Love,
Shannon, Andrew, and Anna Claire Jackosn
(Mark's Cousin)

Greetings, Shannon!

Good to hear from you! Glad to hear things are going well for you and Andrew. We most certainly will need to stay in touch. Get my e-mail address from my dad (I would rather not give it out over a blog), and then we can communicate that way.

I would like to second the request for a courtship story!
