The Future of Medical Ethics

Tim Horn, sent me the following article. After you read the article, feel free to comment on this post if you so choose.

Roe v. Wade v. technology

Christians must be aware of the future of medical technology, both the dangers and benefits that can be found in such. We must study now to be prepared for generations yet to be born, and we must not settle for cultural relevance but strive to think in terms of scripture, regardless of how complicated or simple the issues that we will face.

Mark,

Nathan and I (Rebecca) both read the article. It is very sobering to see the realities of our present medical technology. Some times it seems to me as if it would be easier to go back to life with out medical technology (i.e. no cloning, babies grown in artificial wombs, life sustaining support in hospitals). It seems that getting rid of all those medical "advances" would make our decisions easier. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

But, I know these issues are ones that are for our generation to grapple and conquer. So I hope that I will be able to overcome my naive ideas and help in the battle as the Lord gives grace.

For the Kingdom,
Rebecca
